Stan Fagerstrom, our fishing columnist and one of the world’s best known trick & accuracy casters, will be appearing at the Family Outdoor Expo in Victoria on Saturday, Feb. 6.  The following week his casting will be featured at the Outdoor Sports Expo at Sandpoint, Idaho on Feb. 12, 13 and 14.

Produced by Glen Dry’s Man to Man Ministries, the Victoria Family shows have been presented for the past five years.  They’ve been growing in attendance ever since they started.  Last year’s show drew several thousand visitors.

The show has things of interest to all members of the outdoor family but a great deal of the emphasis is placed on activities for youngsters.  The 2010 show features everything from a petting zoo, pony rides and a junior angler program to a perch fishing pond, catfish ponds and pellet gun shooting.

“I had a chance to participate in the Family Outdoor Expo three years ago,” Stan says.  “I felt honored to be a part of it.  It’s a wondrous opportunity to work with and help youngsters as well as adults and I’m looking forward to being there again.”

The Sandpoint Outdoor Sports Expo is produced by the Sandpoint Men’s Alliance of Christian Churches.  It was presented for the first time last year.  Show officials say they were very pleased with the results of the 2009 show.

Fagerstrom has been a familiar figure at outdoor shows for a long, long time.  No one has done more exhibition casting than Stan has.  His demonstrations for the past half century have taken him from Texas to Tokyo and from Birmingham to Brazil and countless places in between. 

He is also among the nation’s best known outdoor writers.  He has been inducted into both the National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame as well as the Bass Fishing Hall of Fame.  He has also been honored by the National Professional Anglers Association.
